Media Criticism Web Assignment 3 • Fall 2008
There’s been much talk lately (since 2000) about media bias, especially from the “elitist liberal media.” In this assignment, you will investigate this notion as a group by contributing any of the following that address media bias:
- definition (with at least three works cited)
- annotated bibliography entry (one book or two critical articles)
- essay commentary (with at least three works cited)
- video short
- etc.
As a group, you should use the Bias page (linked off of Vocabulary) as an index to present the class’ research as a whole. You should also link off of other pages that are appropriate.
Your project should answer the question “Is the media biased?” While a certain degree of interpretation and editorializing is necessary, you should base your answer on evidence that you collect, not what your gut (bias?) tells you. All work should be presented on the Media Criticism Wiki.
