For my 1102 class. For this essay, you will begin by researching Shakespeare’s Titus Andronicus. Your job will be to research a particular character and analyze that character’s importance within the play; characters will be assigned in class on 10/19. You might consider approaching this assignment as if you were cast as the character for a production of the play. In order to act the part, you must understand the character’s psychology. Your analysis might consider the following questions:
- How is the character integral to the play?
- How does the character contribute to the action of the play?
- What does the character represent?
- How is the character related to Titus?
- What is the character’s motivation? I.e., why does s/he act in the we s/he does?

Your final essay should be at least two pages and cite at least two critical sources: scholarly essays or books. You must have in-text citations and a works cited page according to MLA.
