Today, I’m announcing a new back-end to LitMUSE: LitMUSE.edu. Several of my more advanced courses will use this system, while other online sections will continue to use Humanities Online.

LitMUSE.edu uses WordPress MU, BuddyPress, and bbPress, so think of it as Facebook does Blogging. BuddyPress makes WordPress MU (multi-user) a social community much like Facebook: users can make friends, post updates, join groups, and interact in a rich, multi-media environment. The first classes that will test this system is my first session Technology and the Creative Artist course, and probably my two study abroad classes: World Literature II and London as Text. More specifics will be forthcoming.

I plan on making more, subtle changes to the system, like tweaking the theme, but nothing that should drastically change its functionality. Therefore, I think the system is ready to begin taking users.
