ENGL 3106: Professional Communication
Prerequisite: At least a “C” in ENGL 1102
Teaching/learning methods will include reading, close analyses of business and professional documents, in-class writing and oral exercises, brief lectures, a web-based portfolio project, HTML and CSS training, informal and formal writing assignments, and both individual and group projects. Professional Communication is very much a laboratory class; we shall spend much of our time writing and editing each other’s work.
NOTE: This section of Professional Communication assumes the students possess a certain degree of familiarity and comfort with using a computer — any computer. While previous computer experience is not mandatory, students should be willing to use current technology for all assignments in this course. “I’m just not good with computers” will not suffice — computers are integral to professional communication.
