This is a short presentation for my sophomore World Literature 2 course. It’s meant to highlight some aspects of the Enlightenment that are important for the texts we’ll be looking at this semester. It’s not meant to be an exhaustive exploration of the period, but as an overview of some key points. You might also see this excellent introduction to the period on eNotes, and a slightly truncated version on HumX.
